Welcome to the Academic Triathlon webpage! Academic Triathlon is an extra-curricular activity for 5-8th graders. We have meets once a month after school and practices once a week. As with any triathlon, there are three events involved in Academic Triathlon: mind sprints, face-off, and PARTY in a box. Teams work together to accumulate points in all three areas and all the points are added together to determine team ranks.
Mrs. Hoebing and Hayfield student Kyle Jacobsen will be coaching grades 5-8 together this year, and they are very excited for the new team format! We will have two “Challenger” teams of 5-6th graders, and one “Cross-Trainer” team of 7th and 8th graders. All triathletes will practice together so we can learn from each other’s different ways of thinking.
