Travel Plan

Parent Pick-up Plan

Students Riding a Different Bus – Students that want to ride the bus home with another student can do so unless we go hybrid provided the parent contacted the Hayfield Bus Company, Tanya, and the Classroom Teacher.

Birthday Treats – Similar to snacks. Treats in the classroom are not possible at this time but may be shared prior to lunch or for outside time.

COVID-19 Decision Tree Link https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/schools/exguide.pdf  – Please help us stay in school by keeping sick students and their siblings’ home.  Based upon MDH Guidance, here are the symptoms for at home COVID screening:

Covid-19 Symptoms for Self-Screening:

• More common: fever greater than or equal to 100.4o F, new onset and/or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell.

• Less common: sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new onset of severe headache, new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose.

Masks – Students are expected to wear masks when on school property from drop off to pick up unless Teacher/Paraprofessional/School employee tell students they can remove them.  Typical settings where mask removal may be permitted:

Distance Learning Option when Sickness in Family or Quarantine – If a student needs to stay home for a brief period of time due to a sick sibling or other possible symptoms, students will have the opportunity to receive a lesson from the Distance Learning teacher at a scheduled time during the school day.

Learning During Extended Illness/Quarantine/Isolation – Students required to be absent from school for an extended period will be temporarily transitioned to our Distance Learning Teacher to help continue their education and eliminate the lapse in learning that may take place.  The lessons will keep pace with their classroom teachers and meet at a specific daily time.  Upon return to school, they will return to their classroom and ideally hit the learning ground running.

Water Bottles – Students will need to have a water bottle during the school day as only drinking fountain bottle fillers will be available. Please have your child’s name on the bottle.

Elementary Student Morning Drop-off – Doors 23 will unlock at 7:45 and students should have masks upon exiting their vehicle.  Parents, please remain in your vehicle upon dropping off as staff will be there to help speed up the line.

Elementary Student Pick-up – Students will be in front of the building beginning at 2:50. Students will Exit Door 24 with Hayfield Employees and stay with support staff until picked up.  There will be no parking on the school side of the drive to provide easier traffic flow for parents.  Please see the Parent Pick-up Plan for a visual.

Supply Labeling – For parents,if they have not already done so, it is appreciated if they have supplies labeled before dropping supplies off during conferences as each student will need to use their own supplies this year.

Social Distancing – Staff will work to create maximum space between students over the course of the day enforcing 6 foot when possible.  Student small group interaction will be limited and will be spaced as feasible for a short period of time.
