SADD (www.sadd.org) meetings in Mrs. Wagner’s room the third Friday of the month during homeroom for interested 10-12 graders.

Let’s beat our blood donation record!   Over the last several years, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) has partnered with the American Red Cross to host some very successful blood drives. On November 3rd, 2017, we’re doing it again, and this time we are being challenged out of need to support more patients.    At our most successful drive, we worked together to collect over 71 pints of blood. It is heartening to know that together we have accomplished so much good. We feel we can go even further this time.

SADD would like to ask everybody to be a part of surpassing our previous record by collecting 75 pints of blood. SADD is organizing the blood drive and are looking for a few good donors. Please help support this great cause by rolling up your sleeve and donating or at least sharing on your social networks about this great SADD initiative.  There are many ways you can help, but most importantly we hope you come out to donate. Please help by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org and enter: Hayfield HS to schedule an appointment.  Thank you for helping make the Fall SADD Blood Drive such a success. Let’s help make an impact on November 3rd and March 6, 8-2 in the West High School Gym.  by meeting this new goal and adding it to our list of great accomplishments.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the community for all you sent to help the students in Victoria, Texas who were displaced by Hurricane Harvey and also to FED EX for shipping for free!!!!!!  Below find many of the responses from Sarah Keen their FACS teacher.

I can’t say thank you enough! The FedEx guy was so nice and delivered the pallet to my room and we unloaded it in my kitchen. I am still sorting through it to make it easier for the students to pick from but my students have been helping and going through and taking what they need. I am the one going through the boxes so I will make sure and look for the envelope. My classes were in such awe from the stuff that was donated and said you guys are amazing to help people out that you don’t know. I saw some of them light up like it was Christmas morning when they were going through the donations. One girl said her mom wouldn’t buy her any socks and we found the socks that you sent and she cried. I’m crying writing this!
God Bless you and all the wonderful people who donated to make this happen!!!
I wanted to let you know that I received the second shipment and I have to say that you guys have gone above and beyond helping us. The kids were just amazed on how much stuff you guys sent us. It was like Christmas day again for some of these kids. They got to help me unpack some of the boxes and were like “can I have this?” I told them to take what they needed and students were just amazed that people gave so much. I can’t thank you again for all the stuff you sent to help us! If you ever need anything you let me know and we will be happy to help!!!
Bless you and all your students!
