Hello, my name is Tracie Bestor and this is my 1st year here at Hayfield. Previously I was a school counselor at Dover-Eyota Elementary School for 4 years. I live in Dodge Center with my husband and daughter. I graduated from Winona State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in school Counseling.
As a School Counselor, I have the opportunity to help guide students develop an understanding of themselves and the world around them by focusing upon their academic, career, personal, and social strengths in order to become successful members of our society.
Students take courses at HHS for a variety of reasons and have the opportunity to fill an eight period schedule that rotates on a six hour day. HHS students take classes for four very important reasons: 1) to graduate from HHS, 2) to prepare for post secondary educational opportunities, 3) to acquire an employment skill sets, and 4) to have hobbies and interests outside of school/work.
I am looking forward to a great year here at Hayfield. I work with students in grades K-12. I work with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom. My office hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30.
