Varstity Lettering Policy


Letter requirements

There are three requirements players must complete in order to earn a varsity letter for volleyball. 



A Viking Volleyball Lettering Athlete will…

  1. Represent herself and the volleyball program with class in all school related activities
  2. Attend and be on time to all classes
  3. Work to her ability in all classes.  Maintain good academic standards and remain in compliance with Hayfield High School’s academic policy
  4. Make her education a priority at all times



A Viking Volleyball Lettering Athlete will…

  1. Show support for HHS during the season and throughout the year by attending other activities
  2. Be actively involved with the youth volleyball program, by attending a minimum of ONE volleyball practice or game during the summer or fall
  3. Represent herself with class and dignity in the community
  4. Remain chemically free and support others in the endeavor



A Viking Volleyball Lettering Athlete will…

  1. Earn a spot on the varsity roster
  2. Have record of statistics (dig, ace, kill, block)
  3. Have no unexcused absences from practices and meetings
  4. No chemical violations during the season


Academic guidelines

It is the athlete’s responsibility to be informed of these guidelines through the eligibility instructions for athletes as is provided by the activities office. 

Chemical Violations

The Hayfield  Volleyball Program will be in accordance with all Minnesota State High School League Rules when dealing with any chemical violations.

Athlete’s Serving MSHSL Suspensions

No matter what the penalty length, the Athlete is responsible for completing our expectations throughout the length of their suspension. Any missed responsibility or violation of expectations will result in dismissal from the team.
